29th October, the Beijing Energy Club hosted a dinner meeting with Dr. Ernest Moniz, new US energy Secretary, during his first China visit in the current capacity. BEC Chairman Zhang Guobao, National People's Congress Spokesperson Madam Fu Ying, Ambassador Wu Jianmin - Vice Chairman of China Association of Innovation and Development Strategy, and 20 other senior members of the Club attended the meeting.
Under the theme of "Global Energy Challenges and US-China Energy Co-operation", members of the Beijing Energy Club discussed with Secretary Moniz a wide range of topics, including the US climate action plan, new energy policy priorities, global energy technology development trends, energy and environmental challenges brought by rapid urbanisation, carbon capture and utilisation, US gas exports, Chinese role in global energy governance, and natural gas in transportation.
